From the beach

During my last walk my last walk on the beach Friday morning I noticed this and found it quite interesting.

Vacation miles

Vacation miles totaled around 20 miles for 6 days walking.  I'm good with that. 😎  Now I need to keep it up.  Also, I'm committed to testing my glucose more regularly and logging results.  Eating healthier is also a priority.
All these things will mean I can enjoy my life more and get out to do more photography.  If I had to spend less money on insulin wouldn't hurt my feelings either.

Mileage

4.5 miles today.  Lots of walking this week.  😎

Beautiful Naples

What a beautiful day we enjoyed in Naples today!  First, we strolled around in the Botanical Garden.  I love that place!  After that we went into downtown Naples to have lunch at a place we ate at last year.  It's called Vergina and it's right on 9th.  Wonderful food and good service!  If you're going to be in Florida you may as well enjoy your meals!  The weather was just a little cool and breezy but temps were in the 60s so we can't complain.  I'm already looking forward to coming back next year!
I'll post some photos after I get back to Albuquerque when I can get them into my computer.

Our house while we're here

From the lanai

From Marco Island, Florida

Good morning all.  It's raining this morning here in Marco Island, Florida.  That's ok because I'm in Florida!  It won't rain all day.  Can't dampen my spirits today.
Of course I'm getting in some beach time.  The house we stay in is walking distance to the beach and I'm getting in some badly needed walking.
Here are a couple of the birds I've seen so far.

Brown Pellican

Eastern Willet

I've not taken photos of the gulls I've seen yet but I've seen Blacktailed and Kelp Gulls if my identifications are correct.  I'll get some photos and do further study.

I'll be here the rest of the week so there will be more to come.  😎🌴🐬

I'd be remiss if I didn't show you a couple of the petroglyphs.  I'm fortunate to live very close to them.

Here are a few of my photog friends from my meetup group--Albuquerque Nature Photographers

Here is just one example of what we're shooting.

This one looks so cool in bw, don't you think?
Hello there!  Long time no see.  It's been 6 months since I last posted here.  No excuses.  I'm settled into my apartment here in Albuquerque and gotten lazy.
So now I'm breaking out of it and doing stuff.  I'm getting out into nature and breathing fresh air.  Inhale.  Exhale.  Ahhhhhhh.
Also, I am doing photography again.  Got a new lens for birds and wildlife, etc.  It's the new Nikon 200x500mm 5.6 and I love it.  On my D7200 it's perfect for me.  Sharp and great quality images.  It is taking me a little time to get used to but I'm getting there.
Yesterday I got a chance to practice panning with it.  Below are a couple of examples.

Sandhill Cranes

Mallards

Canada Geese

Not too bad for a beginner.  :-)

Now I'm going to post a few other photos I've taken lately.  No particular order.

Rosy Finches  (all 3 species)

Just a pretty scene from atop Sandia Crest

Wood Ducks

Lincoln's Sparrow

Pretty pointy stuff

Just an old fallen tree

Very high key

Love the mountains

Coy wolf?

This is the kind of stuff I love to walk around in.  Interesting find here.  Makeshift leant?

At Bosque del Apache.  So beautiful here!
